My Story.
Hey, I’m Dzifa (zee-fa or Aoife with Z for all my Irish folk out there)
I’m the photographer behind the lens of Folklore Photography and the woman chomping at the bit to join you on your greatest adventure.
As the daughter of an artist, it was no shock to anyone that I should become one myself. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a paintbrush in my hand and the freedom to explore wherever my creativity took me. As it turns out, it took me to a fine arts degree with a focus on photography – I put the paintbrush down when I realised it required patience. Not for me.
After a few years of traveling and seeing the world I was unexpectedly asked to photograph my cousins wedding. I loved being there to immortalise their big day.
My photographs would make it all timeless
I was hooked. And I wasted no time getting stuck in. I spent the next couple of years interning for a prominent Irish photographer, editing photos, and running the behind-the-scenes of their business. Eventually, realising that I had everything I needed to go all in on building my own.
Since then, Folklore Photography has been present at weddings big & small to capture the unique moments & stories of adventure-hearted couples on their wedding day.
I’ve hiked rugged hills, spent golden days in the Wicklow Mountains and done winter walks in Glendalough, all in the heart of telling your story the way it’s meant to be told – with personality and care.
And, as your photographer, that is my promise to you:
Do all I can to capture you as naturally and with as much heart as I possibly can. And make sure we have fun as I do. There’s no need to take ourselves too seriously, now is there?
Meet the Team.
Role includes chasing skiers down The Alps, cracking the whip when our lead photographer is procrastinating editing, and serving as photographer’s assistant when possible.
